    2008 AES Banquet

Another great event put on by the Arizona Elk Society!

    2007 Banquet Update

On Saturday night at the Arizona Elk Society Banquet in Mesa, AZ. the Commissioners auction elk tag was sold for $195,000. This sets a new sale record for an auction special elk tag eclipsing the previous record (by over $35,000) that was set earlier this year with the Utah special tag. There were over 800 people in attendance to see the high energy tag sale, including Game and Fish representatives Commissioner Martin, incoming Director Voyles, his wife, along with representatives from Corporate sponsors Cabela’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Bass Pro Shops. This money will continue to benefit wildlife through cooperative elk habitat work involving our partners - the local HPC’s, AES, US Forest Service, grazing permittees and other respective land management entities.

Another highlight of the evening included the auction of a live Molly Mule that was paraded around the banquet to the delight of all the attendees, Sidney the mule brought in $8,500. Along with the Commissioners Elk Tag the AES also auctioned the Arizona Antelope Tag. This tag brought in $62,500 that will be used for the management of antelope across the state.

Congratulations go to AES volunteers for their dedicated efforts to facilitate this new record and a great banquet which netted well over a half million dollars in the name of fundraising for elk management!

Since forming in 2001 the Arizona Elk Society has grown into one of the state’s largest wildlife organizations. The mission of the Arizona Elk Society is to raise funds to benefit elk and other wildlife through habitat conservation and restoration and to preserve our hunting heritage for present and future generations. The AES is proud to say that all the money raised from our fundraising events is used for on-the-ground programs and stays in Arizona. In seven short years the organization has raised over well over Three million dollars and protected or enhanced close to 100,000 acres of Elk habitat.
